The Place of Good Hearts

Good to see you recently.
Good to be your favourite ‘leftie’
Two moral people standing across the left-right divide
Supposedly!
What if all that separates us is knowledge?
Would an appreciation of each others position close the gap?
Fox News Banter vs McMurtry Value Sets and Pauwels History [1]?
The soundbite-strawman vs critical pedagogy!
But how when the righties mind is closed to long form analysis?
So certain of the Fox’s righteousness, why look beyond?
Too busy getting ahead, or surviving
When time for critical thought?

Immigration topical but what deeper issue is left out?
Did the Fox create the mess in the first place?[2]
Are the Fox’s ‘shows’ an honest account?
Is he clever enough to create a straw-man diversion?
What crucial facts does he conveniently leave out?

As to the left-right divide, will a belief in ghosts bridge us?[3]
As you believe the Fox, I took a peer into his cunning face
See the appeal, the big teeth, mesmerizing smile and sneering jibes
Certainly it his Century, the modern world built to honor his class
He snarls “There is no alternative” and “This is the only way!”
In the name of democracy, freedom, liberty, wealth for all!
Believable?
Inequality grows as productivity soars! Who other than the Fox took these gains?
Possibly we exist entirely because of him![4]
Does this mean we should continue to serve his unsustainable ways?
Or attempt to find a better way?

People with a heart must stay away
For the greedy Fox would eat every part
So many are warning about his ways, an old wolf in new clothes
Those fooled by his trick seem never to see it
Tyranny served up as a joke, pretending it is for another
Or pretending it is democracy

A better way is beyond left or right
We can all decide futures with a caring heart
Independent of our social or religious charts
Find here some food for thought, away from the Foxes grin
Hope it illuminates a better way, not for one or few, but all!
A path that needs ample time and thought
Wisdom lies beyond the Fox’s laughs and taunts
Good travels!
And if you chart the course
I’ll see you at the place of good hearts.
